Policy Pub: America250

The University of Idaho McClure Center hosts an event series called “Policy Pub.” The series takes places in venues across the state. We are planning for our next event, which we hope will be Policy Pub: America 250, in Pengilly’s Saloon, Boise, March 2.

Policy Pub: America 250

This year, the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. Panelists will share perspectives on principles and foundational ideas in U.S. and Idaho history. A brief discussion will be followed by an interactive question-and-answer session with the audience.

Panelists are Steven Hatcher, State Folklorist, Idaho Commission on the Arts; HannaLore Hein, Idaho State Historian, Idaho State Historical Society; and Phil McGrane, Secretary of State. McClure Center Director Katherine Himes will moderate the discussion.

About Policy Pub:

In January 2018, the McClure Center for Public Policy Research at the University of Idaho launched a speaker series entitled Policy Pub. Designed to engage local communities across Idaho through a variety of policy conversations, the first evening – “Policy Pub: Women in Policy” – featured three female Idaho legislators. Senator Cherie Buckner-Webb, Representative Caroline Nilsson Troy, and Representative Ilana Rubel took to the stage, and the audience enjoyed a delightful, respectful, and thought-provoking one-hour program.
