Our Heritage Celebration Ceremony and Bonfire

250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence sparked the United States of America. 125 years ago, the Idaho Legislature sparked the City of Blackfoot. Those sparks are still burning, and to commemorate these anniversaries, The City of Blackfoot and Bingham County Historical Society are hosting a celebration on 17 January 2026 at 6:30 pm at Mountain View Middle School (645 Mitchell Lane, Blackfoot, Idaho). The celebration will begin with an indoor ceremony involving early photographs and readings of the Declaration of Independence and Blackfoot’s Founding Documents, and then will conclude with an outdoor bonfire held across Mitchell Lane at the soccer fields. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate.
