America250: Honoring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future

Join Owyhee County in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a community event centered on history, heritage, and unity. This family-friendly gathering honors our nation’s founding and the generations who have helped shape its story.

The event will feature a flag ceremony presented by the Bruneau American Legion Post 83, a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Owyhee County Museum Director Eriks Garsvo, live entertainment, and activities for all ages. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in the celebration, with prizes awarded for contest winners.

Enjoy friendly competition with a poetry contest, apple pie contest, and a costume contest, along with other community activities throughout the day.

Free food will be served (while supplies last), including hamburgers, hot dogs, apple pie, and ice cream for all attendees.
